Turkey Dismayed By Switzerland Assuming Somaliland-Somalia Talks Mantle

WE are disappointed by the shifting of Talks between Somalia and Somaliland from Turkey to Switzerland.”

This was stated by the Turkey’s deputy prime minister Hakan Cavusglu during a meeting with Somalia president Mohamed Abdilahi Farmajo in Mogadishu.

According to Geeska Afrika sources close to Villa Somalia, the Turkish official was emphatic that authorities in Ankara view the talk’s development as spite in the face Turkey has been hosting the international sanctioned talks for a number of years but its partiality towards the position of Somalia led

Somaliland to seek alternate venues.

The source within villa Somalia further informs that President Farmajo was at pains in soothing the Turks telling them that “The changes were occasioned by Somaliland president Musa Behi Abdi.”

President Farmajo also took the opportunity to thank the people and government of Turkey for continued support, our source reports.

Following agreement between the two countries Presidents Behi and Farmajo shall meet in Djibouti this month of March to set the stage for talk’s resumption.

Somaliland gave the Turkish Government a chance to be fair and neutral but partiality toward Somalia forced Somaliland to look elsewhere. Besides, you cannot be fair or neutral if your country has similar issues and the Turkish Government has the same issues with the Kurdish people.

Good job, Mr. President, Switzerland is a good choice because of its neutral policy. It too bad if Ankara gets angry or not. It is not a matter of spite, but a matter of Somaliland’s self-determination and officially getting back on the world stage once again as a Sovereign Nation and getting a fair mediator at the same time. We, Somalilanders desire it. It is long over due and about time!

Correction, Somalilanders desrve it, that is.

3 million people with a destiny cannot be hijacked by Somalia’s clannish govt which is unable to protect its citizens.
Shame on them. TUrkey is siding with Somalia and is not sincere on Somaliland and Somalia talks. Somaliland is gone and is busy rebuilding its country and the issue of unity is dead and buried.
    Stop wishful thinking.
